Originally conceived as porotherm brick extrusions, the facade was inspired by Islamic Moucharabieh lattices as a way to shade the building from the mediteranean’s strong sun.

Extensive research and exploration with fabricators was carried out to optimize repetition and modules within the pattern for efficiency while simultaneously providing variation and a sense of lightness.

Openings in the windows are designed to work with existing firecode regulation for direct fireman access through the facade. The result is a patterned geometric filigree against a traditional EIFS substrate.
